Dolphins vs Falcons- hard to pick this game. I think that both teams are really good and they have good coaches. I like the Dolphins becuase they have a simple offense that can travel well and their defense is better than the Falcons.

Eagles vs Panthers- Another game with two very good teams. I think that Carolina has the best running game in the NFL. The Eagles have the most creative coach in Andy Reid and he has a lot of new toys on offense to play with. The Eagles D has lost a lot and the Panthers didn’t play well in the preseason on D. I like the Eagles in this one.

Broncos vs Bengals- that’s a homer pick but I will break this one down later.

With the rest of the NFL teams kicking off their season tomorrow, what are you excited about most? Opening week is always tough to predict because you never know what teams are going to do. Their will be trick plays, new schemes, new personnel, and new coaches. One thing to also consider is the fatigue factor. Starters don’t play much in the preseason, and now players will have to play the whole game because rosters are cut down. You saw that in the Titans-Steelers game on Thursday night. The Titans DL wore out. They got a lot of pressure early in game but faded late and that gave Big Ben extra time to make big throws. Should be a fun Week 1.

The Ohio State University will hold its Pro Day for NFL teams on Friday. Every major NFL decision maker will probably be in the building. Why? It’s not because of OSU’s history of pumping talent into the NFL, it has more to do with the speed of Ohio State players this year. Their top guys didn’t run good 40 yd dash times at the NFL Combine a few weeks ago and it has the players themselves and NFL teams worried. I was going to run a story about this after the Combine but choose to let it all play out. Some OSU players are upset with the speed training that they are getting and are blaming their slow times on that. Now that they are back in campus, where 40 yd dash times are better, so we will see if they improve. I’m hearing that Friday is a make or break day for a few guys at Ohio State. Not that they won’t be good NFL players, but if the 40 yd dash times don’t improve, it will cost the players millions of dollars because they will slip in the draft big time. A guy going from being a top ten pick to pick #20 will lose a lot of money. Of course it’s money he has never had, but you catch my drift. The thing they all have going for themselves is that Ohio State is known for having a fast track so guys will have a chance to burn it up.
