With the rest of the NFL teams kicking off their season tomorrow, what are you excited about most? Opening week is always tough to predict because you never know what teams are going to do. Their will be trick plays, new schemes, new personnel, and new coaches. One thing to also consider is the fatigue factor. Starters don’t play much in the preseason, and now players will have to play the whole game because rosters are cut down. You saw that in the Titans-Steelers game on Thursday night. The Titans DL wore out. They got a lot of pressure early in game but faded late and that gave Big Ben extra time to make big throws. Should be a fun Week 1.

Besides seeing how the Bengals do with Carson back in the saddle.
1. Does Farve actually help the Vikings offense. They have such a good D and running game. Can he put them over the hump and make them a Super Bowl contender?
2. Is losing T.O. a case of addition by subtraction?? I’m not sure they have a number 1 receiver now that will require double coverage.
3. How will the Patriots defense do after losing all those veterans?

The teams I follow closely.
The Giants- Can the new reciever set be affective? Will their D-line dominate like I think it will?
The Bengals- Got my eyes fixed on Cedric Benson. If he can get yards then Carson will shred defenses this season.
Over/under on games it takes before Pat Simms is starting? (I think 2 is a good number there)
Can the young defense work as a team? If they can, look out. They were 12th last year with no offense support and no Keith Rivers. It could be great this year.
Overall Im looking to see some good games. Thursday was great. I cant wait to see what storylines develope.

Well said, but I think if carson shreds people, Ced will get more space to run.

I don’t really care how they do it, I just want to see the Bengals come away healthy and with a win.
I want to see if Green Bay is as good, and if Arizona is as bad as they looked. I also want to see if Buffalo finds thier offense. I’m not really a Bills fan or a TO fan, but how cool would it be to see Trent Edwards all the sudden throw for 300+ yards and 3 or more TDs? I’d like to see the Browns suck again this year and that the Ravens aren’t as good as I think they will be. I hate to admit it, but I am a little interested to see what Farve does.
I think I’d kind of like to see the 49ers come out an play great, it would be interesting if they were a surprise team this year. I’d like them to do it in spite of Crabtree, maybe make the playoffs and even go to the Super Bowl. If and when this happens, we will know that the Bengals are ready to go to the Super Bowl again.

You think the A-11 is gonna be the hot new trick formation of the year

Was that a knock on the Bills offense or maybe the 49ers, or is someone really talking about doing that this year? I had to look that up, I didn’t play youth football.
Do you need to report each player as eligible, can one person report them or does each idividual need to report themselves, or can you just say to the ref, they’re all eligible? I can imagine that there could be quite a line if everyone must report themselves, resulting in possible delay of games. I also think you wouldn’t win any favors with the Refs if you did this a lot.
As far as gimmicks, I kind of like the idea of using Jordan Palmer in the wildcat. Word is he’s the most improved player on the team, he put in a lot of work in the offseason and he’s pretty fast.

From the nytimes article on the Palmer brothers.
In August, before Michael Vick signed with the Eagles, he reportedly attracted Cincinnati’s interest. Some people surmised that the Bengals did not sign Vick because they would have had to release Jordan, a move that might have alienated Carson, their No. 1 overall pick in 2003, whom they have built their team around.
“I had never heard that it was an option until after the fact,” Jordan said. “I don’t even know that Vick’s that much faster than me.”
He paused. “I mean, I’ve put in a lot of work in the off-season.”
Carson laughed and so, loudly, did Jordan. “I’m just kidding,” Jordan said.
