Great pic from Reds game

My shot of Hank Aaron, Sugar Ray, Ali, Bill Cosby

I took my family to the Civil Rights Game between the Reds and the White Sox last night.  We had a great time.  The game was pretty good until the Reds blew a 5-0 lead.  It was interesting looking at the body languages of MLB teams and comparing it to NFL players and coaches.  Baseball is a much more laid back sport.  NFL sidelines go nuts when they are down a few scores.  The White Sox were getting their butts kicked and made tons of throwing errors during the game, but they stayed calm.  I kept waiting for White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen to go off and start cussing out his players, but he just sat there spitting out his sunflower seeds.  And with one swing of the bat, the White Sox were back in the game.  They ended up winning by two runs.  The Reds on the other hand were winning the game in every area, and things were going well.  Then once the White Sox came back, the Reds couldn’t stop the bleeding.  But I think the Reds are a good team.  They just have to start winning these games that they have control of.  The NL Central will go to the wire and these kind of games will keep teams out of the playoffs.  Like I said back in April, I think having Adam Dunn on this team would really help.  I know he strikes out a lot, but so does everyone else on this team.  But Dunn will finish with 40+ HR’s every year, and that would help this team get over the top and take pressure off of Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips.

Glad to see these men honored . Hank Aaron, imo, is the Home Run King . The present day, juiced pretenders, couldn’t carry his jock.

For all the younger people here . You have no idea what guys like Henry Aaron had to endure to arrive at the point of being honored at GABP . All I can say is that how they kept their dignity is beyond me.

Ali, Cosby, Gibson, Aaron – All were greats and only last names needed. I’m a white guy who was sorry he wasn’t aware of this event. My two teenage sons would have benefited from learning about these great men – not Black men, just great men! I would have loved to be at the cnvention center also.

I don’t know if anyone will ever hold the same place in sports/social relevance as Mohammed Ali.
