Corporate Joey?

Miami Dolphins OLB Joey Porter says he wants to clean up his bad boy image.  JP says that he has two different personalities, and he wants his “corporate” side to come out this season.  He has been known to rub people the wrong way during his 10 year career, but can he change?  I don’t think so.  He will still try to get under the skin of the oppositions best player during pregame warm ups.  He will still claim to be disrespected after every game.  He can’t change now, people respect his “Peezy” image.  That’s what we all expect.  Can you imagine “JP” as the nice guy?  I do know this, he is energized after collecting 15 sacks last season.  I saw him in Las Vegas during Super Bowl Weekend and he told me that he plans on playing until the NFL has to carts him off of the field.  But I’m not so sure how this “corporate” Joey thing will play out.  I can see him dumping that image after the Dolphins first preseason game and go back to his old self.  But in all seriousness, I understand what he is saying about taking advantage of some off the field opportunities before he is done playing.  By the way, have you seen the “corporate” Ray Lewis?  Nice commercial and I’m sure he got paid, but didn’t really fit the tough guy LB image that we have of him.  It is funny though.  More funny every time I watch it.

That’s funny. I was going to give him one of my biz cards when we were in vegas but we were both eating dinner so I kept it casual. I used to take Joey and few Steelers out in Nashville when they came to town the night before games. Then we would beat them the next day and he didn’t want to talk after the game. :( but that was reversed over the last few years :(

One on one,Levi would have kicked his butt. No doubt in my mind. Levi is nobody to look for trouble but if you are looking, you’d better bring your lunch because you are going to be there all day.

I was really hoping that Joey “TC” Porter would be lost in the miserable football hell that was Miami. Then they got good. That depressed me. Words cannot accurately measure the amount of loathing I have (as a fan, that is) for Porter.

JT, have you ever spoken with Levi about the incident in Vegas? I would be very interested to know what he thought of the whole thing.

Don’t you think that Porter got off really easy when Goddell didnt suspend he for a single game?
