Congrats to Big Al

February 27th, 2009 | NFL

My main man Albert Haynesworth became one of the richest men in football today.  Actually, he became one of the richest men in football on Tuesday when Internet reports surfaced that his deal with the Redskins was DONE!  So expect tampering charges to be filed by the Titans.  Clearly this was too big of a deal to happen at 12am this morning.  Who does $100 million dollar deals after midnight?  Anyway, congrats to Albert.  I think he deserves every penny he can get.  I also think that Albert will prove people wrong when they say that he will go back to being a lazy player.  He never was a lazy player.  He dominated since his second season.  He just didn’t have the sack numbers that he put up recently.  So ignorant people who don’t really watch football will keep throwing that out there.

With you 100%, love seeing the big uglies getting paid. And who are these people
that say Haynesworth will be or ever was lazy, it is hard to think of a more dominant
player than Albert Haynesworth. Everyone is so fascinated with statistics, but IMHO
I think that you could be the #1 DT in the league and be not much more than a blip
on the stat sheet. Sacks and TFL are nice, but I always thought DT was more about
swallowing up blockers letting the LB come up and make the play.
